Canadian outdoor retailer SAIL appoints Isabelle Lemay as new CEO

Isabelle Lemay

A new face will be at the helm of one of Ontario’s largest outdoor retailers come September when Isabelle Lemay takes over as President and Chief Executive Officer of SAIL Outdoors Inc.

No stranger to the retail landscape, Lemay brings an impressive range of experience to her new role, including being a certified public accountant. Over the past 20 years, she has also worked at several retail and distribution companies, both in Quebec and internationally, climbing the ranks in several roles.

Most recently, she served as COO of Mondou — a Canadian pet store chain with over 65 locations in Quebec — and Interim CEO of Groupe Legault.

As President and CEO of SAIL, which opened its doors over 40 years ago, Lemay will oversee the Quebec-based company’s vast footprint in Eastern Canada. Currently, the brand has 12 locations across Quebec and Ontario, selling a wide range of outdoor, camping, hunting, and fishing gear. The outdoor specialist also has a growing online presence and employs over 1,000 people in the region.

Lemay will officially become CEO on September 9, replacing SAIL’s current President, Norman Décarie.
